Introduction

Chinese – made lawn mowers have gained popularity worldwide for their reliability, efficiency, and cost – effectiveness. Here are some essential operating tips to ensure you get the most out of your lawn mower.

Pre – operation Checks

Before starting your lawn mower, it’s crucial to conduct a few checks. First, examine the oil level. Low oil can cause engine damage. Use a dipstick to check the oil and add more if necessary. Second, inspect the spark plug. A dirty or worn – out spark plug can lead to starting problems. Clean or replace it as needed. Also, check the air filter. A clogged air filter restricts airflow to the engine, reducing its performance. Replace the air filter regularly.

Proper Starting

To start your lawn mower, make sure it’s on a flat, stable surface. Set the choke according to the engine’s temperature. For a cold start, close the choke; for a warm start, open it. Pull the starter cord slowly until you feel resistance, then give it a quick, firm pull. Once the engine starts, gradually open the choke.

Mowing Techniques

When mowing, maintain a consistent speed. Don’t rush, as this can lead to an uneven cut. Mow in straight lines for a professional – looking finish. Vary your mowing pattern each time you mow to prevent the grass from leaning in one direction. Also, avoid cutting more than one – third of the grass blade length at a time. Cutting too much can stress the grass and make it more susceptible to disease.

Post – operation Maintenance

After mowing, turn off the engine and let it cool down. Empty the grass catcher to prevent mold growth. Clean the underside of the mower deck to remove grass clippings and debris. This helps prevent rust and keeps the mower running smoothly. Store your lawn mower in a dry, protected place.
