Introduction
Chinese – made lawn mowers have gained popularity worldwide for their high – quality and cost – effectiveness. Here are some essential operating tips to help you get the most out of your lawn mower.
Pre – operation Checks
Fuel and Oil: Ensure there is enough fuel in the tank. For gasoline – powered mowers, check the oil level regularly as well. Using clean and high – quality fuel and oil is crucial for the mower’s performance.
Blades: Examine the blades for any signs of damage or dullness. Sharp blades cut grass cleanly, promoting healthier lawn growth. If the blades are dull, sharpen or replace them.
Wheels and Handles: Check that the wheels are properly inflated and rotate freely. Make sure the handles are securely attached and in good condition for comfortable operation.
Operating the Lawn Mower
Starting: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for starting the mower. For electric mowers, plug it in properly. For gasoline – powered ones, prime the engine if required and pull the starter cord smoothly.
Mowing Pattern: Use a consistent mowing pattern, such as rows or a checkerboard pattern. This ensures an even cut and prevents missed spots. Avoid mowing in the same direction every time to prevent soil compaction.
Cutting Height: Adjust the cutting height according to the type of grass and the season. In general, don’t cut more than one – third of the grass blade at a time to maintain a healthy lawn.
Post – operation Care
Cleaning: After mowing, turn off the mower and let it cool down. Remove any grass clippings from the deck, blades, and wheels. This helps prevent rust and keeps the mower in good working order.
Storage: Store the mower in a dry and protected place. If it’s a gasoline – powered mower, drain the fuel if it won’t be used for an extended period to prevent fuel degradation.
