Introduction

Chinese – made lawn mowers are known for their high – quality, durability, and cost – effectiveness. Here are some useful operating tips to help you make the most of your lawn mower.

Pre – operation Checks

Before starting the lawn mower, conduct a thorough inspection. Check the oil level, as insufficient oil can cause engine damage. Also, examine the blade for any signs of wear or damage. A sharp blade ensures a clean cut and reduces stress on the engine. Make sure the grass catcher is properly attached and empty.

Starting the Lawn Mower

For electric lawn mowers, ensure the power cord is in good condition and properly plugged in. For gas – powered ones, turn the fuel valve on and prime the engine if necessary. Pull the starter cord gently at first, then give it a firm, quick pull to start the engine.

Mowing Techniques

When mowing, walk at a steady pace. Don’t rush, as this can lead to an uneven cut. Vary your mowing pattern each time you mow. This helps prevent the grass from leaning in one direction and promotes more even growth. Adjust the cutting height according to the type of grass and its growth stage. Taller grass generally requires a higher cutting setting.

Post – operation Maintenance

After mowing, turn off the engine and let it cool down. Clean the underside of the mower deck to remove grass clippings, which can cause rust and affect performance. Empty the grass catcher and store it in a dry place. If it’s a gas – powered mower, turn off the fuel valve.
