Introduction

Chinese – made lawn mowers are known for their high – quality, efficiency, and affordability. Here are some useful operating tips to ensure you get the most out of your lawn mower.

Pre – operation Checks

Fuel and Oil

Before starting the lawn mower, check the fuel level. Use clean, fresh fuel to ensure smooth operation. Also, check the oil level as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Insufficient oil can cause engine damage.

Blades

Inspect the blades for sharpness and damage. Dull or damaged blades can result in an uneven cut and may stress the engine. Sharpen or replace the blades regularly.

Safety Features

Ensure that all safety features such as the blade guard, dead – man switch, and safety key are in proper working condition. These features are crucial for your safety during operation.

Operating the Lawn Mower

Starting

Follow the starting procedure recommended by the manufacturer. Usually, it involves priming the engine, setting the choke, and pulling the starter cord. Avoid over – priming as it can flood the engine.

Mowing Pattern

Adopt a consistent mowing pattern, such as mowing in straight lines or in a checkerboard pattern. This helps to achieve an even cut and reduces the chances of missing spots.

Cutting Height

Adjust the cutting height according to the type of grass and the season. In general, it’s better not to cut more than one – third of the grass blade length at a time to keep the grass healthy.

Post – operation Maintenance

Cleaning

After mowing, clean the lawn mower to remove grass clippings, dirt, and debris. This helps to prevent corrosion and keeps the mower in good working order.

Storage

Store the lawn mower in a dry, sheltered place. If you’re not going to use it for an extended period, drain the fuel and oil to prevent deterioration.
