Introduction
Chinese – made lawn mowers are known for their quality and affordability. To make the most of your lawn mower, here are some essential operating tips.
Pre – operation Checks
Fuel and Oil
Before starting, check the fuel level. Use clean and appropriate fuel for your mower. Also, check the oil level in the engine. Low oil can cause engine damage.
Blades
Inspect the blades for any signs of damage or dullness. Sharp blades cut grass more cleanly, reducing stress on the engine and promoting healthier grass growth.
Operating the Mower
Starting
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for starting the mower. Usually, you need to prime the engine, set the choke, and pull the starter cord gently but firmly.
Mowing Pattern
Mow in a straight pattern for an even cut. Alternate the mowing direction each time you mow to prevent the grass from leaning in one direction.
Speed
Don’t rush. Walk at a steady pace to ensure the mower cuts the grass evenly. If you go too fast, the mower may miss some grass or not cut it properly.
Post – operation Maintenance
Cleaning
After mowing, turn off the mower and let it cool down. Then, clean the underside of the mower deck to remove grass clippings, which can cause rust and reduce mower efficiency.
Storage
Store the mower in a dry place. If you won’t use it for a long time, drain the fuel and oil to prevent damage to the engine.
