Introduction

Chinese-made lawn mowers have gained popularity for their quality and affordability. To ensure you get the most out of your lawn mower, here are some essential operating tips.

Pre – operation Checks

Before starting the lawn mower, check the fuel level. Most Chinese – made lawn mowers use gasoline, so make sure there’s enough for the job. Also, examine the oil level. Just like in a car, proper oil levels are crucial for the engine’s smooth operation. Inspect the cutting blades for dullness or damage. Dull blades can tear the grass instead of cutting it cleanly, which is bad for the lawn’s health.

Starting the Lawn Mower

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to start the lawn mower. Usually, you need to set the choke according to the engine’s temperature. For a cold start, close the choke partially; for a warm engine, keep it open. Pull the starter cord steadily and firmly. Once the engine starts, let it run for a minute or two to warm up before you start mowing.

Mowing Techniques

When mowing, walk at a steady pace. Don’t rush, as this can lead to uneven cuts. Change your mowing pattern each time you mow. This helps prevent the grass from leaning in one direction and gives a more uniform look to your lawn. Adjust the cutting height based on the grass type and the season. In spring, you can cut the grass a bit longer to encourage root growth, while in summer, a slightly shorter cut may be appropriate.

Post – operation Care

After you finish mowing, turn off the engine and let it cool down. Empty any remaining grass clippings from the mower deck. This prevents clogs and keeps the mower in good working condition. Store the lawn mower in a dry place to avoid rust and other damage.
