Introduction
Chinese – made lawn mowers are well – known for their quality and performance. To make the most of your lawn mower, here are some essential operating tips.
Pre – operation Checks
Before starting your lawn mower, conduct a thorough inspection. Check the oil level, as insufficient oil can cause engine damage. Also, examine the blade for any signs of wear or damage. A sharp blade ensures a clean cut on the grass. Additionally, make sure the fuel tank has enough gasoline, and there are no loose parts.
Proper Starting Procedure
For electric lawn mowers, simply plug it in and switch it on. For gas – powered ones, set the choke according to the engine’s temperature. In cold starts, use the full choke, and gradually adjust it as the engine warms up. Pull the starter cord firmly and smoothly to start the engine.
Mowing Techniques
When mowing, move the lawn mower at a steady pace. Avoid going too fast, as it may result in an uneven cut. Change the mowing direction each time you mow the lawn. This helps prevent the grass from leaning in one direction and promotes even growth. Also, don’t cut the grass too short; a good rule of thumb is to remove no more than one – third of the grass blade’s height at a time.
Post – operation Maintenance
After mowing, clean the lawn mower thoroughly. Remove any grass clippings from the deck and the blade. Let the engine cool down before storing it. If it’s a gas – powered mower, consider draining the fuel if it won’t be used for an extended period to prevent fuel system issues.
