Introduction

Chinese – made lawn mowers have gained popularity worldwide for their high – quality and cost – effectiveness. To ensure you get the most out of your lawn mower, here are some essential operating tips.

Pre – operation Checks

Inspect the Blades

Before starting the lawn mower, check the blades for any signs of damage, such as chips or dullness. Sharp blades are crucial for a clean cut and efficient mowing. A damaged blade can tear the grass instead of cutting it, which may lead to a less healthy lawn.

Fuel and Oil Levels

Ensure that the fuel tank has enough gasoline and the oil level is within the recommended range. Running the mower with insufficient fuel or oil can cause engine damage and reduce its lifespan.

Clear the Lawn

Remove any debris, rocks, or toys from the lawn. These objects can not only damage the mower but also pose a safety hazard if thrown by the spinning blades.

Operating the Lawn Mower

Proper Mowing Height

Adjust the mower’s cutting height according to the type of grass and the season. Generally, it’s better not to cut more than one – third of the grass blade length at a time. This helps the grass stay healthy and reduces stress on the plants.

Mowing Pattern

Change your mowing pattern regularly. Mowing in the same direction every time can cause the grass to lean in one direction and may result in an uneven lawn. Alternating patterns, such as horizontal, vertical, and diagonal, can help the grass grow upright and evenly.

Post – operation Maintenance

Clean the Mower

After mowing, turn off the mower and let it cool down. Then, use a brush or compressed air to remove grass clippings, dirt, and debris from the mower deck, blades, and air filter. This prevents rust and keeps the mower in good working condition.

Store Properly

Store the mower in a dry and protected area. If it’s going to be stored for an extended period, drain the fuel and oil to prevent corrosion and gum up in the engine.
