Introduction
Chinese – made lawn mowers are well – known for their quality and affordability. To ensure you get the most out of your lawn mower, here are some essential operating tips.
Pre – operation Checks
Fuel and Oil
Before starting your lawn mower, check the fuel level. Use clean, fresh fuel to ensure smooth operation. Also, check the oil level in the engine. If it’s low, add the recommended type of oil as stated in the user manual.
Blades
Inspect the blades for any signs of damage or dullness. Sharp blades cut grass cleanly, promoting healthy lawn growth. If the blades are dull, sharpen or replace them.
Operating the Lawn Mower
Starting
Follow the correct starting procedure. For most Chinese – made lawn mowers, set the choke to the appropriate position according to the engine’s temperature. Pull the starter cord smoothly and steadily until the engine starts.
Mowing Pattern
Choose a mowing pattern. Alternating between different patterns, such as horizontal and vertical, helps prevent grass from leaning in one direction and gives a more even cut.
Cutting Height
Adjust the cutting height based on the type of grass and the season. In general, it’s better not to cut more than one – third of the grass blade length at a time.
Post – operation Maintenance
Cleaning
After mowing, clean the lawn mower. Remove grass clippings from the deck, blades, and undercarriage. This helps prevent rust and keeps the mower in good working condition.
Storage
If you’re not going to use the lawn mower for a while, store it in a dry place. Drain the fuel and oil to prevent damage to the engine during long – term storage.
