Introduction
Chinese-made lawn mowers have gained popularity for their quality and affordability. To ensure you get the most out of your lawn mower, here are some essential operating tips.
Pre – operation Checks
Before starting the lawn mower, check the oil level. Low oil can damage the engine. Also, inspect the spark plug. A worn – out spark plug may cause starting problems. And don’t forget to examine the blades. Dull blades can tear the grass instead of cutting it cleanly.
Starting the Lawn Mower
For gasoline – powered lawn mowers, prime the engine if required. Then, set the choke according to the engine temperature. Pull the starter cord smoothly but firmly. Electric lawn mowers are simpler; just plug them in and press the start button.
Mowing Techniques
Walk at a steady pace while mowing. Don’t rush, as it can lead to uneven cuts. Change the mowing direction each time you mow. This helps prevent the grass from leaning in one direction and promotes healthier growth. Also, avoid mowing wet grass, as it can clog the mower and make the job more difficult.
Post – operation Maintenance
After mowing, turn off the lawn mower and let it cool down. Clean the mower deck to prevent grass buildup. Empty the grass catcher. If you use a gasoline – powered mower, store it with an empty fuel tank in the off – season to avoid fuel degradation.
