Introduction
Chinese-made lawn mowers have gained popularity for their quality and affordability. To ensure you get the most out of your lawn mower, here are some essential operating tips.
Pre – operation Checks
Before starting the lawn mower, it’s crucial to conduct a thorough inspection. Check the oil level; running the mower with insufficient oil can cause engine damage. Also, examine the air filter. A dirty air filter restricts airflow, reducing the mower’s performance. Replace or clean it as needed. Inspect the spark plug and make sure the blade is sharp and securely attached.
Proper Mowing Techniques
When mowing, set the correct cutting height. Don’t cut the grass too short, as it can stress the grass and make it more vulnerable to diseases and pests. It’s recommended to remove no more than one – third of the grass blade at a time. Mow in a pattern, such as rows or a spiral, to ensure even coverage and a neater appearance.
Maintenance During Use
If you encounter thick patches of grass or debris, slow down the mower to prevent clogging. Regularly stop to clean the underside of the mower deck. Grass clippings and dirt can build up, which affects the mower’s cutting performance and can lead to rust.
Post – operation Care
After mowing, turn off the engine and let it cool down. Empty the grass collection bag if your mower has one. Store the mower in a dry place to prevent rust and damage. Regularly sharpen the blade and change the oil according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
