Introduction

Chinese – made lawn mowers have gained popularity worldwide for their high – quality and cost – effectiveness. To ensure you get the most out of your lawn mower, here are some useful operating tips.

Pre – operation Checks

Before starting your lawn mower, it’s crucial to perform a series of checks. First, check the oil level. If it’s low, add the appropriate type of oil as specified in the user manual. Second, examine the fuel tank. Make sure there is enough fuel for the mowing session. Third, inspect the cutting blades. Dull blades can lead to an uneven cut and may damage the grass. If the blades are dull, sharpen or replace them.

Starting the Lawn Mower

For a gasoline – powered lawn mower, set the choke according to the temperature. In cold weather, use the full choke; in warm weather, a half – choke may be sufficient. Pull the starter cord smoothly but firmly until the engine starts. Electric lawn mowers are much simpler. Just plug them in and press the start button.

Mowing Techniques

When mowing, walk at a steady pace. Avoid going too fast, as it may result in an uneven cut. Change the mowing direction regularly. This helps the grass grow upright and gives your lawn a more professional look. Also, don’t cut the grass too short. A general rule is to never cut more than one – third of the grass blade length at a time.

Post – operation Maintenance

After mowing, turn off the lawn mower and let it cool down. Clean the mower thoroughly. Remove any grass clippings from the cutting deck and the wheels. If your mower has a bagging system, empty the grass bag. Store the lawn mower in a dry and safe place to prevent rust and damage.
