Introduction
Chinese-made lawn mowers have gained popularity for their quality and affordability. Here are some essential operating tips to make the most of your lawn mower.
Pre – operation Checks
Before starting your lawn mower, it’s crucial to perform a few checks. First, examine the blade. Make sure it is sharp and free from any damage. A dull blade can tear the grass instead of cutting it cleanly, which may lead to an unhealthy lawn. Also, check the oil level if it’s a gas – powered mower. Low oil can cause engine damage.
Starting the Lawn Mower
For electric lawn mowers, simply plug it in and press the start button. Gas – powered mowers require a bit more effort. Prime the engine if necessary, and then pull the starter cord firmly and steadily. Avoid yanking the cord too hard as it can cause damage.
Mowing Techniques
When mowing, maintain a consistent speed. Don’t rush through the process. It’s also a good idea to mow in different directions each time. This helps the grass grow upright and gives your lawn a more even appearance. Additionally, don’t cut the grass too short. A general rule is to never remove more than one – third of the grass blade’s height at a time.
Post – operation Maintenance
After you’re done mowing, turn off the lawn mower and unplug it if it’s electric. Clean the mower deck to prevent grass clippings from building up. For gas – powered mowers, store them with a full tank of fuel and add a fuel stabilizer to keep the fuel fresh during storage.
