Introduction
Chinese-made lawn mowers are known for their quality and affordability. However, to get the best performance from your lawn mower, it’s important to know some operating tips. Here are some useful suggestions.
Pre – operation Checks
Before starting the lawn mower, check the fuel level. Use clean and high – quality fuel to ensure smooth operation. Also, inspect the oil level. Low oil can cause damage to the engine. Check the blades for sharpness and any signs of damage. Dull or damaged blades can lead to an uneven cut.
Starting the Lawn Mower
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to start the lawn mower. Usually, it involves setting the choke, priming the engine (if required), and pulling the starter cord. Once the engine starts, let it warm up for a minute or two before you start mowing.
Mowing Techniques
When mowing, walk at a steady pace. Avoid going too fast, as it can result in an uneven cut. Vary your mowing pattern each time you mow. This helps prevent soil compaction and encourages the grass to grow upright. Don’t cut the grass too short. A good rule of thumb is to never remove more than one – third of the grass blade’s length at a time.
Post – operation Maintenance
After mowing, turn off the lawn mower and let it cool down. Empty the grass catcher if you are using one. Clean the underside of the mower deck to prevent grass buildup, which can affect performance. Sharpen the blades regularly to keep them in good condition.
