Lawn mowers made in China have gained popularity for their quality and affordability. Here are some essential operating tips to ensure you get the most out of your Chinese – made lawn mower.

Pre – operation Checks

Before starting your lawn mower, always check the oil level. Just like a car, a lawn mower needs proper lubrication. Most Chinese – made lawn mowers come with a clear oil indicator. If the oil is low, add the recommended type of oil as specified in the user manual. Also, inspect the spark plug. A faulty spark plug can prevent the mower from starting or cause it to run poorly. Clean or replace it if necessary.

Blade Maintenance

The blade is the heart of a lawn mower. Keep it sharp. A dull blade will tear the grass instead of cutting it cleanly, which can lead to a brown and unhealthy – looking lawn. Use a blade sharpener to maintain the blade’s edge regularly. When sharpening, make sure to follow the correct angle as indicated in the manual. Additionally, check the blade for any signs of damage such as chips or cracks. Replace a damaged blade immediately to avoid safety hazards.

Mowing Techniques

When mowing, avoid cutting more than one – third of the grass height at a time. Cutting too much can stress the grass and make it more susceptible to diseases. Walk at a steady pace. Pushing the mower too fast can result in an uneven cut. Change your mowing pattern each time you mow. This helps the grass grow upright and evenly, and it also prevents soil compaction in certain areas.

Post – operation Care

After mowing, turn off the lawn mower and let it cool down. Then, clean the underside of the mower deck. Grass clippings and debris can accumulate, which can reduce the mower’s efficiency and promote rust. Use a brush or a hose to clean it thoroughly. Store the lawn mower in a dry place to prevent corrosion and damage.
