Introduction

Chinese – made lawn mowers have gained popularity worldwide due to their high – quality and cost – effectiveness. Here are some essential operating tips to help you get the most out of your lawn mower.

Pre – operation Checks

Before starting the lawn mower, check the oil level. Just like a car, proper oil levels ensure smooth operation. Also, examine the air filter. A clogged air filter can reduce engine performance. Inspect the spark plug for any signs of wear or damage. Additionally, make sure the cutting blade is sharp and securely attached. A dull blade can tear the grass instead of cutting it cleanly.

Starting the Lawn Mower

Most Chinese – made lawn mowers have a pull – start mechanism. To start, set the choke according to the engine’s temperature. If it’s cold, set the choke to the ‘closed’ position. After a few pulls, move the choke to the ‘open’ position. For electric lawn mowers, simply plug them in and press the start button.

Mowing Techniques

When mowing, avoid cutting more than one – third of the grass blade at a time. This helps the grass stay healthy and strong. Mow in a pattern, such as rows or a spiral, to ensure even coverage. Overlapping each pass slightly can prevent missed spots. If the grass is wet, it’s better to wait until it dries as wet grass can clog the mower and make the cutting uneven.

Post – operation Maintenance

After mowing, turn off the lawn mower and let it cool down. Clean the underside of the mower deck to remove grass clippings and debris. This prevents rust and keeps the mower running efficiently. Sharpen the blade regularly for better cutting results. Also, store the lawn mower in a dry place to prevent damage from moisture.
