Introduction

Chinese – made lawn mowers are known for their reliability, efficiency, and affordability. To ensure you get the most out of your lawn mower, here are some essential operating tips.

Pre – operation Checks

Fuel and Oil

Before starting your lawn mower, check the fuel level. Use clean, fresh gasoline for optimal performance. Also, check the oil level. Low oil can cause engine damage. Refer to the user manual for the correct type and amount of oil.

Blades

Inspect the blades for sharpness and damage. Dull or damaged blades can tear the grass instead of cutting it cleanly. Replace or sharpen the blades as needed.

Air Filter

A dirty air filter restricts airflow to the engine, reducing its power. Clean or replace the air filter regularly according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Operating the Lawn Mower

Starting

Follow the starting procedure in the user manual carefully. Usually, you need to prime the engine, set the choke, and pull the starter cord. Avoid over – priming, which can flood the engine.

Mowing Technique

Mow at a consistent speed. Avoid going too fast, as it may result in uneven cuts. Vary your mowing pattern each time to prevent soil compaction and keep the grass healthy.

Height Adjustment

Adjust the cutting height according to the type of grass and the season. In general, taller grass is better for the root system and helps prevent weeds.

Post – operation Maintenance

Cleaning

After mowing, turn off the engine and let it cool down. Then, clean the grass clippings from the deck, blades, and wheels. This prevents rust and extends the life of the lawn mower.

Storage

Store your lawn mower in a dry, protected place. If you won’t use it for an extended period, drain the fuel to prevent it from deteriorating and causing engine problems.
