Introduction
Chinese-made lawn mowers have gained popularity worldwide due to their quality and affordability. Here are some essential operating tips to help you make the most of your lawn mower.
Pre – operation Checks
Before starting the lawn mower, check the fuel level. Make sure there is enough gasoline or that the battery is fully charged if it’s an electric model. Also, inspect the blades for any signs of damage or dullness. A sharp blade ensures a clean cut and better lawn health.
Starting the Lawn Mower
For gasoline – powered lawn mowers, set the choke according to the temperature. In cold weather, use the full choke; in warm weather, a half – choke or no choke may be sufficient. Pull the starter cord smoothly and steadily. Electric mowers can be simply plugged in and turned on.
Mowing Techniques
Mow in a pattern, such as rows or a spiral, to ensure even coverage. Avoid cutting more than one – third of the grass blade length at a time. This helps maintain the health of the grass. Walk at a steady pace, neither too fast nor too slow, to achieve a uniform cut.
Post – operation Maintenance
After mowing, turn off the lawn mower and let it cool down. Clean the mower deck to prevent grass buildup, which can affect performance. If it’s a gasoline mower, drain the remaining fuel if you’re not going to use it for a long time. Sharpen or replace the blades regularly.
