Introduction
Chinese – made lawn mowers are known for their quality, affordability, and efficiency. To ensure you get the most out of your lawn mower, here are some essential operating tips.
Pre – operation Checks
Inspect the Lawn Mower
Before starting the lawn mower, visually inspect it for any loose parts, damaged blades, or leaks. Check the oil level if it’s a gas – powered mower, and the battery charge if it’s electric.
Clear the Lawn
Remove any rocks, toys, or debris from the lawn. These objects can damage the mower blades or be thrown out during operation, posing a safety hazard.
Operating the Lawn Mower
Proper Starting
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for starting the mower. For gas – powered mowers, prime the engine if required and pull the starter cord smoothly. For electric mowers, simply plug it in or turn on the power switch.
Mowing Pattern
Use a consistent mowing pattern, such as rows or stripes. This not only gives your lawn a neat appearance but also ensures even cutting. Overlap each pass slightly to avoid missed patches.
Cutting Height
Adjust the cutting height according to the type of grass and the season. In general, it’s better not to cut more than one – third of the grass blade length at a time.
Post – operation Care
Clean the Mower
After mowing, turn off the mower and let it cool down. Then, clean the mower deck, blades, and wheels to remove grass clippings and dirt.
Store Properly
Store the lawn mower in a dry and secure place. If it’s a gas – powered mower, drain the fuel if you’re not going to use it for an extended period.
