Introduction

Chinese-made lawn mowers have gained popularity for their quality, durability, and affordability. To make the most of your lawn mower, here are some useful operating tips.

Pre – operation Checks

Before starting the lawn mower, check the oil level. Low oil can cause engine damage. Also, examine the air filter. A dirty air filter restricts airflow, reducing the mower’s performance. Ensure the blades are sharp. Dull blades tear the grass instead of cutting it cleanly, leaving your lawn looking ragged.

Starting the Lawn Mower

For electric lawn mowers, simply plug them in and switch on. For gas – powered ones, prime the engine if required. Pull the starter cord steadily and smoothly. Avoid yanking it forcefully, as this may damage the starter mechanism.

Mowing Techniques

Mow in a straight line for a neat appearance. Overlap slightly with each pass to ensure no grass is missed. Adjust the cutting height according to the grass type and season. For example, in summer, set a higher cutting height to protect the grass from heat stress.

Post – operation Maintenance

After mowing, turn off the lawn mower and allow it to cool down. Empty the grass catcher if your mower has one. Clean the underside of the mower deck to prevent grass buildup, which can affect the mower’s performance and lead to rust.
