Introduction
Chinese – made lawn mowers have gained popularity worldwide for their quality, affordability, and performance. To ensure you get the most out of your lawn mower, here are some valuable operating tips.
Pre – operation Checks
Fuel and Oil
Before starting the lawn mower, check the fuel level. Use clean, fresh fuel for optimal performance. Also, check the oil level. If it’s low, refill it with the recommended oil type as stated in the user manual.
Blades
Inspect the blades for sharpness and damage. Dull or damaged blades can tear the grass instead of cutting it cleanly. If needed, sharpen or replace the blades.
Air Filter
A dirty air filter can reduce engine performance. Check the air filter regularly and clean or replace it according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Operation
Starting the Mower
Follow the starting procedure in the user manual. Usually, it involves setting the choke, pulling the starter cord, and adjusting the throttle. Make sure the mower is on a flat, stable surface when starting.
Mowing Pattern
Adopt a consistent mowing pattern, such as mowing in straight lines or in a circular motion. This will ensure an even cut and make your lawn look more aesthetically pleasing.
Grass Height
Adjust the cutting height according to the type of grass and the season. Generally, it’s better not to cut more than one – third of the grass blade at a time to keep the grass healthy.
Post – operation
Cleaning
After mowing, turn off the mower and let it cool down. Then, clean the grass clippings from the deck, blades, and wheels. This will prevent rust and keep the mower in good condition.
Storage
Store the lawn mower in a dry, sheltered place. If you’re not going to use it for an extended period, drain the fuel and oil to prevent damage to the engine.
