Introduction
Chinese-made lawn mowers are known for their high – quality, durability and affordability. Here are some useful operating tips to help you get the most out of your lawn mower.
Pre – operation Checks
Before starting your lawn mower, conduct a thorough inspection. Check the oil level, fuel level, and blade sharpness. Ensure that all safety guards are in place and functioning properly. A dull blade can tear the grass instead of cutting it cleanly, leading to a less healthy lawn.
Starting the Mower
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for starting. Usually, for a gas – powered mower, you need to prime the engine, set the choke, and then pull the starter cord. Electric mowers are even simpler, just plug them in and press the start button. Avoid over – priming the engine as it can flood the carburetor.
Mowing Techniques
When mowing, mow in a straight line. Vary your mowing pattern each time to prevent the grass from leaning in one direction. Don’t cut more than one – third of the grass blade length at a time. Cutting too much can stress the grass and make it more susceptible to diseases.
Post – operation Maintenance
After mowing, turn off the mower and let it cool down. Clean the mower deck to prevent grass clippings from building up. If it’s a gas – powered mower, drain the fuel if you won’t use it for a long time. Sharpen the blade regularly to maintain its cutting performance.
