Introduction
Chinese – made lawn mowers are renowned for their high – quality and cost – effectiveness. Here are some useful operating tips to ensure you get the most out of your lawn mower.
Pre – operation Checks
Before starting the lawn mower, check the oil level. Low oil can cause damage to the engine. Also, examine the spark plug. A worn – out spark plug may lead to difficulty in starting the mower. Inspect the blades; they should be sharp for a clean cut. Dull blades can tear the grass instead of cutting it neatly.
Starting the Lawn Mower
When starting a Chinese – made lawn mower, follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully. Most models require you to prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb a few times. Then, set the choke according to the engine temperature. For a cold start, set it to the ‘Choke’ position, and switch it to the ‘Run’ position once the engine warms up.
During Operation
While mowing, walk at a steady pace. Do not rush, as this can result in an uneven cut. Overlap each pass slightly to ensure all the grass is cut. Also, be aware of obstacles such as rocks, tree roots, and toys on the lawn, as hitting these can damage the mower and cause injury.
Post – operation Maintenance
After mowing, turn off the engine and let it cool down. Empty the grass catcher to prevent clogs. Clean the underside of the mower deck to remove grass clippings and debris. Regularly change the air filter to maintain good engine performance.
