Introduction

Chinese-made lawn mowers have gained popularity for their high – quality and cost – effectiveness. Here are some essential operating tips to help you make the most of your lawn mower.

Pre – operation Checks

Before starting the lawn mower, it’s crucial to conduct a few checks. First, examine the blades. Make sure they are sharp and free from any damage. Dull blades can tear the grass instead of cutting it cleanly. Also, check the oil level if it’s a gas – powered mower. Insufficient oil can lead to engine problems. Finally, inspect the grass bag or mulching system to ensure it’s properly attached and not clogged.

Starting the Lawn Mower

For electric lawn mowers, simply plug it in and switch it on. Gas – powered mowers require a bit more effort. Prime the engine if necessary, set the choke according to the temperature (full choke for cold starts), and pull the starter cord firmly and smoothly. Once the engine starts, let it warm up for a minute or two.

Mowing Techniques

When mowing, avoid cutting more than one – third of the grass blade length at a time. This helps keep the grass healthy. Mow in straight lines for a neat appearance, and overlap slightly with each pass to ensure even cutting. If your lawn has slopes, mow across the slope rather than up and down to prevent the mower from tipping over.

Post – operation Maintenance

After you’re done mowing, turn off the mower and unplug it if it’s electric. Clean the blades and the under – carriage to remove grass clippings and dirt. For gas – powered mowers, empty the fuel tank if you won’t be using the mower for an extended period. Store the mower in a dry and safe place.
