Introduction
Chinese – made lawn mowers are known for their quality and affordability. To ensure you get the most out of your lawn mower, here are some essential operating tips.
Pre – operation Checks
Before starting the lawn mower, check the oil level. Just like a car, a proper oil level is crucial for the smooth running of the engine. Also, examine the spark plug. A worn – out spark plug can cause starting problems and poor performance. And don’t forget to inspect the blades. Dull blades can tear the grass instead of cutting it cleanly, leading to an uneven and unhealthy lawn.
Starting the Lawn Mower
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for starting. Usually, for a gasoline – powered Chinese lawn mower, set the choke according to the engine’s temperature. If it’s cold, close the choke; if it’s warm, leave it open. Pull the starter cord steadily and firmly. For electric lawn mowers, simply plug it in and press the start button.
Mowing Techniques
When mowing, don’t cut the grass too short. A good rule of thumb is to never remove more than one – third of the grass blade length at a time. This helps the grass stay healthy and strong. Mow in different directions each time you mow. This prevents the grass from leaning in one direction and gives a more even cut.
Post – operation Maintenance
After mowing, turn off the lawn mower and let it cool down. Clean the mower deck to remove grass clippings and debris. This prevents rust and keeps the mower working efficiently. Sharpen the blades regularly for a cleaner cut next time. You can also change the oil as recommended by the manufacturer.
