Introduction

Chinese-made lawn mowers have gained popularity for their quality and affordability. Here are some essential operating tips to keep your lawn mower working efficiently and your lawn looking great.

Pre – operation Checks

Before starting your lawn mower, check the oil level. Low oil can cause engine damage. Also, examine the spark plug; a dirty or faulty spark plug may prevent the mower from starting properly. Inspect the cutting blades for sharpness and any signs of damage. Dull blades can tear the grass instead of cutting it cleanly.

Starting the Mower

For most Chinese – made lawn mowers, set the choke according to the engine’s temperature. On a cold start, set the choke to the ‘closed’ position. Pull the starter cord firmly and smoothly. Once the engine warms up, gradually open the choke.

Mowing Techniques

Adjust the cutting height based on the type of grass and its growth stage. Avoid cutting more than one – third of the grass blade length at a time. Mow in different directions each time you mow to prevent the grass from leaning in one direction and to promote even growth. Walk at a steady pace; don’t rush the mowing process.

Post – operation Maintenance

After mowing, turn off the engine and let it cool down. Clean the mower deck to prevent grass clippings from building up. This can improve the mower’s performance and prevent rust. Sharpen or replace the blades regularly to ensure a clean cut.
