Chinese-made lawn mowers have gained popularity for their quality and affordability. Here are some essential operating tips to ensure you get the most out of your machine.
Pre – operation Checks
Before starting your lawn mower, check the oil level. Most Chinese – made models have clear indicators. Low oil can cause engine damage. Also, examine the air filter. A clogged filter restricts airflow and reduces performance. Clean or replace it if necessary.
Starting the Mower
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for starting. For electric models, make sure the power cord is in good condition. For gas – powered ones, prime the engine as required. Pull the starter cord smoothly and steadily to avoid damage.
Mowing Technique
Adjust the cutting height according to the grass length. Don’t cut more than one – third of the grass blade at a time. This helps maintain healthy grass. Mow in a systematic pattern, such as rows or a checkerboard, to ensure even coverage.
Maintenance After Use
After mowing, turn off the mower and let it cool down. Empty the grass catcher. Clean the underside of the mower deck to prevent grass buildup, which can affect cutting performance. Regularly sharpen the blades for a clean cut.
