Introduction

Chinese – made lawn mowers are known for their high – quality, durability, and cost – effectiveness. To ensure you get the most out of your lawn mower, here are some essential operating tips.

Pre – operation Checks

Fuel and Oil

Before starting your lawn mower, always check the fuel level. Use clean, fresh fuel to keep the engine running smoothly. Also, check the oil level. Low oil can cause engine damage. For 4 – stroke engines, make sure to use the recommended oil type.

Blades

Inspect the blades regularly. Dull or damaged blades can tear the grass instead of cutting it cleanly, leading to a poor – looking lawn. If the blades are dull, sharpen them or replace them with new ones.

Wheels and Handles

Check the wheels for proper inflation and ensure they rotate freely. Also, make sure the handles are securely attached and adjustable to your comfort level.

Operating the Lawn Mower

Starting

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for starting the lawn mower. For electric mowers, plug it in properly. For gas mowers, prime the engine if required and pull the starter cord smoothly.

Mowing Pattern

Use a consistent mowing pattern, such as mowing in straight lines or in a checkerboard pattern. This will ensure an even cut and a more professional – looking lawn.

Cutting Height

Adjust the cutting height according to the type of grass and the season. In general, it’s better not to cut more than one – third of the grass blade length at a time.

Post – operation Maintenance

Cleaning

After mowing, clean the lawn mower thoroughly. Remove grass clippings from the deck, blades, and wheels. This will prevent rust and keep the mower in good working condition.

Storage

Store the lawn mower in a dry, sheltered place. If you’re not going to use it for an extended period, drain the fuel and oil to prevent damage to the engine.
